No, I'm skinny enough as it is!

Well whether or not he believes he needs the excersise, clearly his animals do.

That is what free range means isn't it?

Are the eggs more glossy than matte?

Glad they've gotten bigger... air cells in pullet eggs usually don't get as big as the norm as they are juggling moisture loss with enough space for the growing chick...
I would say about 50/50. Not really glossy, but not matte either. Least porous eggs I've ever seen. The eggs from earlier in the week are still a little small, but I'm only dropping 5%. If I don't start doing better than 75%, I will start weighing.
The eggs for the set next weekend are much more normal sized. It's weird, it's like all eggs stepped up a size from the 22nd to the 23rd.
Being my first batch, I'm still not exactly sure what I'm looking at, but most blues are very, very dark. Almost black, and some have phenomenal muffs. I'm really happy about my pairings :thumbsup

True....It sounds like your family really needs to embrace the free range. This whole everyone has their own pen is not really working for you. My chickens fly over a 5 ft fence, 3 ft isn't going work.
