Yeah, it was a big egg, tasty too! She laid one that weighed 78 grams the other day.

I would say about 50/50. Not really glossy, but not matte either. Least porous eggs I've ever seen. The eggs from earlier in the week are still a little small, but I'm only dropping 5%. If I don't start doing better than 75%, I will start weighing.
The eggs for the set next weekend are much more normal sized. It's weird, it's like all eggs stepped up a size from the 22nd to the 23rd.
Being my first batch, I'm still not exactly sure what I'm looking at, but most blues are very, very dark. Almost black, and some have phenomenal muffs. I'm really happy about my pairings :thumbsup

Gotta love the sudden step up in egg size... I think mine did a similar group effort, lol...

Not glossy per say, but feels smooth/slick... those do seem to be harder to lose moisture...

I'd say the darker the down on the blues, the darker they will turn out... is the buyer willing to give you updates so you can compare after they feather out?

SC, you're getting me pretty excited for my Ams... and I don't even get the chicks for another 2 1/2 months...

I love this, learning so much and you folks are so funny. I have ducks and just starting my fencing. I have 6 mature ducks and by using this BYC I have had a 3 month crash course. Thanks to all the comments and experiences of all the comments possted.

I've seen you over on the duck side. Welcome!

Yes and no. She's probably willing, but she's one of those customers that I won't go out of my way to keep up with :gig
She asked me for these chicks in the summer, way before they ever started laying. I told her $8 each then. I texted her yesterday and said 14 hatched. She texted back and said "That's $42, right?"
I said, "No, $112. I don't even sell chicks that hatch by accident for $3" :gig
She's still buying them. I think she was just seeing if I would fall for it
