French frogs

I'm here, just finished dinner and finishing up my Angry Orchard.

Bought chick food today and a small container at the dollar store to put the horizontal chick nipple waterers into.  I figure it's worth a try and better than cleaning shavings out of the water twice a day.  Anyone else use them?

:frow you must have worked hard today. Anything happening in your bator yet? I'm dying here...

I love angry orchard....do you guys get woodchuck hard cider there?
I haven't seen it, but I haven't looked either. We have a local Brewery that makes a great cider, but I haven't bought a growler yet to bring some home. Skarsgard farms makes a great local cider, too. Lots to chose from.

I had a lot of different breeds years ago and we've kept a family laying flock for years. Just now getting back into it. I've got nice white silkie pullets, the chicks, three nine year old LF hens (SLW, WPR, BO) and a pet quality silkie rooster. I'm getting some nice AM chicks from scflock next week. I want a few Salmon Faverolles, but they are not that easy to find. What about you?
ETA -Just saw your last post.
Aww...you have kept your old hens! How sweet! When ours get old, they'll get buried in the pet Cemetary. We've buried so many animals there but never chickens. We'll never eat them...unless the lights go out! They r spoiled rotten!

I haven't used poultry nipples but I trained my new turkeys to a rabbit water bottle.

If you see then you should try them...Granny Smith is great.

I thought you were a pharmacy quality assurance tester.
...:lau

Have you used them before? I've heard they don't freeze up as bad.
I haven't. They will mostly be used in the brooder box in the house and in the grow-out box in the coop. Luckily, I think that most of our really hard freezes will be behind us by the time the chicks move out there.

Big chickens have a metal waterer on a heated base, which has worked great for 2 winters now.
