SCflock, I think you'd like welsummers. They're awnry. As chicks they go after the toes and eyeballs of their siblings and grow up to be fairly chatty. Beautiful large eggs that are a terracotta. Mine aren't perfect, Scrambled lays a latte colored base with terracotta splatters and speckles.

Forgot there was a balloon event this weekend. Went outside to see a dozen balloons overhead with more being launched. Then about 50 Sandhills flew by.

They're so cute, but they can't help it. You may want to venture into the Barnevelder world too...

The pic doesn't do it justice, but the eggs have a natural sheen and are copper to bronze, sometimes a dusty rose brown.
