Good idea... I just usually have so many varied ages that it's better for me... plus the different species, lol... I do have one pen that I have to feed layer feed to, my Sulmtalers are super picky about eating anything except the feed... :/

My ducks like snacks ALL day don't eat a ton of feed. They eat some but it seems to me they would eat more. But what do I know.

I think you're on the right track, Phil... bet you see better results in the long run keeping them on layer... my free rangers eat way less feed than the confined flock...

Sidewing sent me a picture of his rooster from the same breeder, and he looked really nice. I'm sure I will have a few to choose from, and I will hang on to them for a while this time
