Sid, I totally agree with K. You've proven the BrinZea would hatch, so it would probably be a fantastic hatcher that was easy to clean. Spend a little money and get a trouble free incubator

Everyone knows how I feel about Brinsea, but cleaning is one of the best parts. After hatch, it's spotless in about 15 minutes. The other great thing is the 3 year warranty. Both of mine run constantly, and the warranty is comforting. They are expensive, but stupidly simple to use. The reviews on the 40 aren't as good as the 20, that's why I bought another 20. I also like not having to wait 3 weeks between hatches.
Two of them are a little over $700, though, and that's without the pump. I think in Sidewing's scenario, I would incubate in a Genesis and hatch in his Frankenbator

I found a slightly used Brinsea 20 fully automatic with egg turner for $232. I that a good deal?

I just paid $380 for a new one. It's a good price if it's only slightly used. Just make sure it's an Advance, not an Eco

Just dropping in to say Hi - worked all morning then a fire broke out in the junkyard across the street,  Wanted to make sure it didn't jump the fence so I had the hose ready. Who knows what they had piled up over there since they'd knock it back and it would flare up again.

I have been busy today. Finally got the lowboy into the yard and have been hard at work repairing it enough to build my tractor.

I'm so ashamed of myself. I have a customer that was waiting for cuckoo marans in April. She only wanted girls, and wanted them started, that's why I've been trying to set Silas' eggs. I stopped by the feed store today, and they had cuckoo marans sexed chicks...
Yes, I bought chicks

The customer knows, and it's fine, she just didn't want to brood. Silas' flock is a hatchery flock anyway, so she's not losing quality, but it kills me to buy chicks I should be hatching. At least I can go back to full sets of AM eggs

I'm only setting Jack's in the next batch, and will be cracking to check fertility on Johnny's until he improves

That's got to be frustrating, but it says a lot about you that you let the customer know and were upfront about the situation.
