I just ignore and move on.....

These are easy, really. BertS is right you need a smaller dish for new chicks. But otherwise just poke a few holes on the bottom side of the bottle (put them so they are not above the lip of your dish) glue your dish to the bottle, fill bottle with water and quickly replace cap. Work like a charm

Yep. Be sure the holes are very low, the height of the holes sets the water level in the bowl. And remember don't remove the lid to refill until the bottle is empty or until you move it to the sink!

Oh Bert, I wanted to tell you that my clementine seed turned out to be polyembryonic. If you've done the research you claim to, you'll know what that means.

Dan, I know what it signifies, but what I don't know is how to tell early on whether it is or not.

My Costa Rica limes now have four leaves each! Looks like only two of the five are going to start. Nothing from the others as yet.

So, this Rube Goldberg contraption is a prototype draft tube humidifier for my hatcher. Advantages: control humidity level by placement of the hose further in or out of the fan airflow. Easy to refill water reservoir. No mess. No hot, wet sponges or pads.

It's just a cheap pond mister in a canning jar, a funnel, a piece of tubing, and some water. Simple is good.
