So what you are saying is I can still eat it![]()
Hi Walnut![]()
Well yeah...pretty much any fish is edible. But tastes vary...I don't care for mackerel even though some swear it's the best.
Little red snapper are the best. Mangrove snapper are great as they never turn into big snapper. I love those little guys. They are my kind of panfish! I just oil and grill them in their skins if I don't snack on them raw. And if you get a big snapper, the meat just in front of the tail is what you want for sushi, cook up the rest some other way.
Yellowtail snapper and snook are really good. But my personal favorites are salmon and red snapper for sashimi, both of those plus eel and tuna for sushi.
I'm not a huge fan of eel. It's ok, but not my favorite. I like salmon ok, but nothing beats red tuna for me

It took a while before I developed a liking for eel, but that smoky taste and the eel sauce won me over.
Avocado on sushi is another of my favorites. I'm sure it's not at all traditional but I love the taste and texture along with the rest.
Y'all lost me; I jumped ship @ the 1st mention of eel.......yuck...remind me too much of snakesIt took a while before I developed a liking for eel, but that smoky taste and the eel sauce won me over.
