French frogs

Awww sorry about those.. :hugs better luck with the rest! Too many posts to list one, so I'll give you a quick rundown from lockdown. 7 duck eggs, only 3 hatched 7 lav orps - all 7 hatched! Yeah! 6 silkie/cochin - 5 hatched 4 mutts - only 1 hatched. Did eggtopsies last night. All fully formed, some unabsorbed yolks, most were internally pipped. All the duck eggs were internally pipped. Those mutt chicks were HUGE! But I'm still happy with the hatch.
All were internally pipped but didn't finish? Was their liquid in there? Or goo, hardened glue? Sounds kinda like they drowned... :/
And I'm much more "direct" :lau. My partner in crime is the nice one.
Sometimes the direct approach is the only approach... :D ;)
:gig :fl good luck! I now have 21 set! You amaze me Turk! I'm having a good amount of pre-sales too. I hope they pan out. Someone asked for 4 pullets in spring. That's make 4 people on my wait list. For me and my small backyard flock, that's a lot but not close to your 30! :gig Do you ever take a deposit or just go on good faith? What is it exactly? The feathers grow out instead of in? My neighbor has a white call he bought at auction like that. All the wing feathers point out. He trimmed them down so they don't look as bad but I didn't realize it was a "thing". X3
Angel wing or twisted wing... it's like the whole tip of the wing is twisted so it doesn't tuck in when folded and sticks out at 90° angle from the rest...

lots of high fives, and hen slapping hen.........

that hen on hen action, is starting to grow on me.......lol

oh really

There were still moist, not hardened, not shrinkwrapped, and I don't think they drowned. Most even seemed to be in the correct position. Its just like they ran out of air.

I'm thinking ventilation, since I had partially closed that vent by accident.

That sucks... well, guess you need to do another set then, right? :D ;)

Question, I set eggs around 10:30 last night. No one laid an egg yesterday, so I just set what I had. Then 2 eggs this morning. Can I add these 2 eggs in? Will it make that much of a time difference and be considered staggered??

And yes, @RavynFallen that's exactly what this ducks has then. Now I know there's a name for it!

After I return from "vacation" I will be putting together a formal breeding program for Oregon Gray turkeys. Kevin Porter and Dana Manchester were kind enough to help me learn about the specific genetics involved in this color and I will build a breeding pen just for them. My tom was called "outstanding".

No, its a busy Friday.
I make mine take all of Sunday off. It is Sunday, there is always work. He has to take care of the cows, but any work beyond feeding and watering (and keeping them in the pen) is unnecessary. I do bite my tongue during haying season. And what is it you have to do on the 26th that you need to fertilize on the 25th? :D
