Hey...WV...going out tomorrow to set a trap for that Fisher....crossing my fingers would love a nice pelt....
Yup, and Bovine TB, and some kind of mosquito borne sudden death syndrome where they seek water and die in it.
Trade you one of mine for that one![]()

His head was harder than mine.

Have you ever seen the video of the man who doused himself with doe urine and got mauled by a buck in full rut, while his wife stood by running the camera? Stupid people shouldn't breed.I was not in a blind when I took those photos. I was stalking in broad daylight carrying a Nikon D600, just moving in a non-threatening manner, slowly and at a slight angle with plenty of pauses.
The one with the buck with his head down and pawing was a little unnerving. I snapped that one and retreated.

Several years ago there was a fantastic mount on loan to a sporting goods store here in Frederick. It was a full body mount of a buck (Muley, I think) being brought down by a mountain lion. The deer had that terrified look in his eyes; even had drool coming out of his mouth. Best looking job I've ever seen, done by a taxidermist who was world-famous. Unfortunately, I can no longer recall his name, but he was a local (lived <5 miles from here) and mounted the first deer I ever harvested.Oooh good luck! I want a fox, full body mount...
