French frogs

So I have a question about the eggs I put in the incubator. @RavynFallen probably can answer it. Last night was 5 days and when I candled them, on most I could see the tiny embryo and eye with the veins spreading out (looked like normal development). But on 3 of the pullet eggs I can only see a tiny bit of red veins, right in the center of the yolk, but no embryo or the eye like the others. There is just like a small circular shape of red veins. Any idea what that means? Should I keep any hope for them?

Still early. Don't lose hope yet!

I had lost hope for 2 silkies last night, and one pipped as I was looking in!! I heard it before I saw it. It was several hours behind the others, so I really thought there was no way. I'm hoping for another surprise on the last one... lol

Congrats!

Seriously, though, any development that early without a ring is still development, they may just be a little behind. When I do candle, I like day 10. That's the best day to see development before they start going dark

That's the great thing about hatching. Once there is a little lull in action, you think that the eggs that aren't doing anything must have quit, then you get all excited when you get a new pip!! In my last hatch I had pips on Friday night and new pips on Sunday afternoon! I was happily surprised! I think it will be fun hatching on New Year's Eve...since I'm stuck home anyway. And guess what? I'm setting another batch this weekend!! :D

True! I'll try to be patient. This is my first hatch with non-shipped eggs and I'm hand turning, so it hard not to peek when I'm in there anyway.

I'll be anxious to watch.

Did you see that cute little solid black silkie/cochin mix of mine? I bet it will be a sizzle.
This girl that is taking them better keep in touch with me, so I can watch her grow them out first, then decide if I ever want to hatch any more of them...
