YES!!! the butcher we use makes great bacon. His mama in law used to make tamales too, but she has retired from it.so might try that ourselves. the rest will go to steaks, and then the ends will go to my sausage making. I'm not doing to do any roasts with this one.
work, and life got in the way.

I'm sure you and your family know this, but after about 250lb, the weight gain ratio to feed, favors the pig, and not the farmer.

Whether your homestead is in the city or the country, meat rabbits can help you feed your family with lean, nutritious meat. Rabbits breed and grow so quickly that one pair of healthy does (females) can produce more than 600 pounds of meat in a year. Compare that to the dressed yield of 400 pounds for an average year-old beef steer. Rabbits also use feed more efficiently than cows do: According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a rabbit needs 4 pounds of feed to make 1 pound of meat. In comparison, beef cattle need 7 pounds of feed or more to create 1 pound of meat, reports Michigan State University’s Department of Animal Science.

without a doubt, PEN raised rabbits are one of the most efficient producer of food for us.

I'm really liking your rabbit tractors, and have added it to my list of things to build. I will just use the hutches for mamas and babies.
