French frogs

Floating duck house, K... they're perfect for keeping them safe on water...

ain't swimming to feed no duck just thought the track was cool. haven't seen one here in years. it helps keep the wild turkey population down or we would be over run .

leave it growed up on the rock glade for them critters and with that rest over I'm out the door seeya

Howdy peeps...just another day in the north fishing....I got one more trip tomorrow then I got to get some work done around the homestead.....But today in hanging with some friends I haven't seen in a while.

Broncos are going to the Superbowl!

So this morning I put eggs into the bator, but it stilled looked kind of empty, so I put a couple eggs from today in, and then grabbed some eggs out of the fridge to see if they will hatch. Can't remember how old they are, less than 2 weeks probably. If nothing happens, then I pull them at day 10 and I'm out a breakfast's worth of eggs.

Since I put the others in this afternoon, I'm not sure how many of each kind I have in there.

I'll put more water in and rotate the tray in 3 days - will get a good count then.

I suppose that's one advantage of having only girls--I can't be tempted to try to get just one more in :gig

I've stll got 3 layers--Frieda's eggs are the palest and glossiest of the flock, and I've seen both Frittata and Stumpy in the nest box shortly before a light brown and a green egg, respectively. I think that first, slightly bluer egg was actually Stumpy's, just with the brown not quite fully calibrated yet. All the green eggs, except for that first one, have been identical.

Well I didn't put any Orloff / Marans in there at least

Part of the reason I raided the fridge was that one of my Orloffs hadn't laid an egg in the last 5 days I've been collecting, so I pulled 3 of hers out of the fridge. Of course, there was one more Legbar/Orloff egg in there, so it was pulled, too.

This is my first hatch since last June - I think my chicken math is under control..........................................so far.

Yay! This week, Mr. P's broadcast started on time--and I don't think I started recording in the middle of his name :rolleyes

If anyone's curious, you can hear him right now at http://kfugradio.org/ Even if you're not curious, he's on there :P

Or at least he was, between 5 and 6 pm, PST ;)
