how's Nebraska tonight...it's so freaking cold here...calling for 20 below tonight....my poor dachshund couldn't take it. 30 seconds and his feet froze so bad he sat on his butt and started crying.

I'm here, just finished dinner and finishing up my Angry Orchard.

Bought chick food today and a small container at the dollar store to put the horizontal chick nipple waterers into.  I figure it's worth a try and better than cleaning shavings out of the water twice a day.  Anyone else use them?

I use the lil red nipple, the horizonal type, theres a saddle type that can be hooked up semi vertical that i want also. I thought i was warned that they could drown the chicks and to only use them on adult birds?

I haven't used poultry nipples but I trained my new turkeys to a rabbit water bottle.

Am i wrong?

My chicks use the the red vertical nipple just fine.

Not too bad, 20s right now. It is supposed to get nicer next week upto 50s I am really looking forward to it, get rid of all this snow at last.
