We have 100, it was just 60 females (we are cursed with heifers) Still not a huge operation. a scale would be nice, maybe someday.
you know I have found over the years they bring all they bring at the sale barn . they hit 350 to 400 lbs. they gone . but cattle operations are smaller around here and we have good sale barns close by . but it is an ever changing market . So guessing weight is important . in your case think I would run a few head through a sale and see what happens when the grass is growing of course . 60 head calved last spring . early spring you guys must have some going over 600 lbs. little large for feeder calves . and by the time the grass is growing good with good feed your looking at 700 plus . that is of course depending on average weight of you brood cows and Bulls . 100 head is a good number to have . sounds like your DH knows what he is doing .bet he can guess the weight pretty close .
