Well this year needs to be better for me, last year I lost too many birds.

Your BCM are looking really cute! Especially that little cockerel in the first pic,

I'm thinking now there may be 3 cockerels. One is mossy, but that one in the picture is in the lead for main man so far.
I candled the test set of Silas and Johnny last night. Johnny was 40% (a little better) and Silas struck out. Scrapped that batch and set 2 dozen from Jack, so I'll have Easter chicks for sale

Yes, that means I'm expecting Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana eggs tomorrow. Plus a few Orloffs.

Predators?

Chicks killed by a broody, escaped juvies killed by my dog, a couple sick I had to cull before vacation since I couldn't separate them while I was gone, a few youngsters culled for crossbeak.

A couple new quail pics. Love the little white one. If more of those hatch next week, I might just save this one.

The blacks are really deep looking black.  I bet they are going to be gorgeous.

Thanks, I hope so. I tried to get a shot of Blue, but she moved. She's really dark, and feathers are starting to get some nice edging

Bummer! A broody gone mad! Didn't know they would do that! We lost one to crossbeak always sad to lose them little babies.
