French frogs

I may need to light the stove.

I did. Hubby wanted one, now I'm roasting. Strange switch.

Very pretty!!

Cas is Lady Greys mates name... :lau

X2!!

He looks like White Lightning fits!! :lau

Cool that LGs mate was Cas. SIL named the LO roo that I gave her Romeo. Said she should have named him Casanova, that's why I thought of it. But Moonshine does suit him so far. I hate coming up with names for them.

It's flockin cold! Brought everyone in early, under much protest... :/
Was wondering too... :hu
My mind always trys to make root beer to taste like sarsaparilla... never works, lol... only way I can do root beer is with ice cream... :D

Btw, I'm jealous... haven't had good sarsaparilla in many years... :plbb
Eh?? What's that?? :gig

Cold here too. I'm so over the cold already!

I like root beer. Tried the Not Your Fathers Root Beer, wasn't impressed. Used to drink the hell outta root beer schnapps and coke! Yummmm

You think my month old chicks are okay in the new brooder outside. They're under a heat lamp and I laid a sleeping bag over the top. It's supposed to get to 33F here. The brooder is on the porch.

Should be fine at a month old. Mine will be out at 2-3 weeks. Careful with that sleeping bag near a heat lamp!

Have you looked at sweeter heaters or Brinsea plate brooders?

Ok, good.

I have the Brinsea, but have looked at the sweeter. Don't know anything about it except for what I've seen on here.

How's the thumb today?

Oh, I got those OEGB hens today too. Will post some pics tomorrow when I get some better ones. They are small and very pretty! :)

Today is off on tangents day as I hop from project to project.

Today I was supposed to swap 6 EE hens and 2 roosters for turkey eggs and cash. The guy flaked on me, so good news FB, I will have plenty of green and blue eggs when you want them. I've collected 30 since Mar 11, and I will set the oldest of these when I set my 30+ turkey eggs on Wednesday. I'll keep collecting, so when you are ready you'll have as many days worth as you want of my best EE eggs. We can make up my shortcoming in a second shipment or turkey eggs or $ whatever suits you.

One of my Orlopp Bronze poults is standing watch over her siblings while they rest. They sleep a lot. They don't seem to eat that much, but they grow like weeds.

Now off to watch hockey...

Gorgeous!!

Introducing my new co...Roo. Still haven't settled on a name for him, but he's a very pretty light brahma.
I know quarantine is advisable, but in this case, I didn't have time, nor resources to do so, and accepted the risk. Introductions went extremely well, and I think the girls were happy to have a man around again.

Maybe Casanova

GreAt! Five right? You should have pretty SDW chicks. Thumbs getting on my nerves about ready to cut it off. :) Think I'll try the Sweeter Heater . Flock likes the Brinsea but you have trouble with yours haven't you? What size?

Mine are outside in the brooder, which is in the coop/ shed. They have had no heat for a couple days, and it's supposed to hit 30 two nights from now. They sleep in a pile, and seem to be doing ok.

My month old poults are fine in a wire sided coop. They have a heat lamp, but perch overnight on a hockey stick away from the light. It's been in the 20s the past couple nights.
