Yes, if I wait too long, they go in the coop & wait for me to shut the door. Of course, they get peas at bedtime so they're more than willing! ETA: and don't change their schedule.

Alfalfa Deb, you should post some pics of their bandanas Oh, and I will add x# on dont change their schedules. And add dont move anything around! Lol I'm a different duck mommy. Mine dont have a house and prefer to spend the night in their pool or just hanging under the stars. Oz, look up black east Indies ducks.

Actually, Calls might just be a good fit for you then... other ducks as well though... you will need an enclosed and netted pen for keeping them safe at night or when you aren't home, but they imprint on people the best and if raised around the children com8ng around a lot, they would be good for them too... Calls aren't very big, so eating them just isn't practical... and they're not prolific egg layers either... the more SQ they are, the less they tend to lay, lol... but they make super great pets... great for keeping the slugs and bugs down, not as destructive as bigger ducks in a garden/yard, and the girls are great alarms...

Their loudness is my downfall with calls. If I could take them to camp, that would be different, but I'd want to keep them home and my co...roos are bad enuf! :/

SC I got the eggs yesterday and they look awesome! Excellent packing and they all made it safe. I started cooking them today. Fingers crossed for 7 day candle.

Anxious for this set. 21 days is going to be long....

@RavynFallen . . My poor Ogye is dead!!!! . I think she broke her own neck. All I got was a picture and confirmation of death as I am in still in DC. Just the way she was positioned with her head between the crate and the board. I think she might have laid her first egg before she died also. It's a small cream egg but I will have to look when I get home tomorrow night.
