Update on our rescue attempt on the Silkie egg from last night. Mrs. Oz cleared the shell before sunrise this morning. The membranes had started drying a little but we got that part unglued.
We put him in a neonatal care unit (small plastic box ) inside the larger brooder this evening. Regular doses of 50/50 Nutra drench and H2O. He's wobbly but can walk . Had been crying a lot but settled down after we got a good gulp or two of fluids in him.
Very mild cross bite but I think it's from having his face glued to his wing. No other deformities noted so far other than toe count. He only has four toes.
