No, mottled is predominantly dark with a white peppering. I think I have pictures of each

was just curious, since I've only heard ya'll talk about blue, black, and splash......

And my understanding is with mottled, the feathers actually have both colors, but with splash, the feathers are individually one color, just 2 (or more) colors on the bird.

That splash rooster is over 3 blacks and a very dark blue. I'm thinking the lighter blues are coming from the blue hen, and the darker blues are from the blacks. No splash? I hatched 9/12 yesterday, and 2 were splash

And my sister-in-law helped me solve the similar-egg issue, now I know which egg belongs to Katherine. (she hatched 2 sex-link boys with white head dots, so they have to be Katherine's)
