So this is how i set him up. You can see his broken leg. I watched him eat, but he would not drink while i was sitting there. He started drifting to sleep when i left. Hopefully he starts drinking. I set a mirror in thete to keep him entertained. And will weigh him with his flockmates come Wednsday so if he does not continue gaining healthfully i will know. This wont last long, if everything seems to go well for him i will sew one up using an old pair of jeans.

Good job, OFW!

Y'know how I said I had to look myself for my escaped broody 'cause my older daughter wasn't thorough when looking? Well, evidently, the nest is on the other side of the fence somewhere, 'cause I looked everywhere. Bu the chicken isn't missing any more--finally dawned on me this morning to make sure there was food and water in the pen, and just scoop her up while she was stuffing her beak

She is not happy with me... I'll leave her in there for a week, regardless--if she's still broody after that insult, she'll get anything that hatches and/or something from one of the feedstores.

I hope this Wyandotte makes a good mama! She only hatched 2 of her own and I transplanted the rest. So far so good.

Awww poor baby. I hope the sling does well for you and him! Great idea to weigh him. Good luck!

Did you give her some dummy eggs? That would help to encourage her to stay broody...

Howdy peeps.... Long day...... Everyone okay?
Walnut I actually had 4 track quadraphonic.....
And 106FM W4 in Detroit was a quadraphonic Rock station for a short while. Used to be a great rock station till overnight they went country. Howard Stern walked out on them.
