How long is it reasonable for an egg to be safe to eat after laying? Does any one print a "layed" date on their eggs before selling?

I've heard they are good for quite some time. I've thought about putting dates on our eggs, but haven't. I might start to though. One of the last "threads" I read said they can last for months. Just remember... if you plan to boil them and any float... throw those ones out. They're no good. I had one (store bought) that floated, and didn't know any better at the time. YUCK!!!! lol
