Fridge eggs-

the chick with the blue egg- was from a diff hatch I just put him up to compare to todays hatch- hubby took camera- so I will get chick picks up on sat.

2 more hatched this is what they look like- since hubby has camera- this is from a dif hatch. not Rock Island egg- eggs from a friends

Congrats, so cute!

My last fridge egg is still going strong, and it looks like it might be the first to hatch. Last night it was rocking. Today is day 20

the healthfood store eggs didn't make it. I got three from my friend's eggs to hatch will post soon.

i was wondering your opinion about why they did not make it after the development you saw during candling, could the initial cold temp and humidity allow them to develop but not hatch...this happened to me with eggs that i ordered, they developed but none of them hatched.

well because it was winter- I had strayed from my normal hatching routine, I normally dry hatch and have good results- but since it was winter, and I use the woodstove and live in a desert I decided to have a cap full water a day, and I would put a wash cloth on the bator to warm it more. between the water and the bator not breathing as much is what I think killed the eggs the came out too wet. I did hatch out fridge eggs before and the 3 that did hatch were from a fridge- I have another batch coming on the 13th/14th they are all fresh eggs straight from the hen- plus I am back to dry and am going to wait til external pip to add water. candled they are all doing well. day 8 currently. These eggs I am waiting on I really want because they will be "blue" marans, ameracaunas, cochin.
