Just for fun....

What breed is your friendliest bird?

What breed is your smartest bird?

In our flock, our friendliest bird is a Delaware hen. I also think she is probably our smartest, but our dominique mix roo is pretty smart too.

My friendliest is one of my blue Wheaten pullets.

My smartest is probably my black star pullet.

I can't answer this fairly because my chickens are still babies. The youngest are only 2 weeks old. I am so fond of my RIR pullets though, one in particular. I call her Fuzzy Red Head. She is 5 weeks old and still has a little baby fuzz on her head and neck. Out of the RIR's that I have, she always come to me first out of the group and is the first to try new things.
My Barred Rocks are 2 weeks old and are very friendly as well.
Our Leghorns are 2 weeks old and there are a few that are more outgoing than the rest.
I truely can't name one breed that is friendlier or smarter than the others....I love them all!

My friendliest is a 3 way tie...my Barred bantam cochin pullet, My EE hen and my mostly blind RIR hen. They are so friendly, they will hop right up on you are even stand on your feet as you are trying to walk!

Smartest hmmm...I don't know who I would name the smartest...probably little Rexie, my bantam rir cockeral. When we feed up in the barn, he follows us into the feed room because he knows that we always drop a little extra!

My friendliest chickens are my young Buff Orpington pullets. Almost every time I am feeding, they hop onto my shoulders and proceed to go to sleep. My smartest? Definitely my Black Australorp, she's always way ahead of the rest.

I only keep two breeds these days. Of these the Orps are friendlier & the Marans more intelligent.

I've had very many breeds in my time & the most intelligent breed I ever owned was Leghorn.
