Friendly Chickens??

Hey all,
I’m looking for a new chicken breed to add to my flock. I want one that wouldn’t necessarily by scared of people, as I would like to show it. I know that all chickens are unique, but is there a breed that tends to be friendlier? I’m leaning towards Orpingtons, I had a buff once, but maybe looking for something a little smaller? Thanks!

You could try salmon favorelles. They are around 5 lbs adult weight. They are a very docile bird even the roosters. I raise Ameraucanas I think they are sweet and gentle. They also come in a bantam breed.

My black copper Marans is really friendly and there are a lot of different kinds of Marans. My Lavender Orpington is super friendly. Silver Grey Dorkings, mine are really friendly.

We have a cream legbar who is the friendliest in the flock and my favorite. She is super sweet, always the one to come up to you first. She even laid an egg in my son’s lap and will sit with us close to an hour at times just content as can be. And they lay gorgeous blue eggs!

The friendliest chickens you can get are the oriental games. You can take them by themselves and put them on a perch in a crowd and they will set there and let people walk by and pet them. Hard not to get very attached to them. Friendly and interactive on the level of a dog, a good thing they have such long lifespans.They also have the lowest chance of adult males that attack people, and make the best broody hens.
