Friends Welcome

I've had that happen to me b4. In my experience you have nothing to worry about. Its more of a PR move than anything else.

I actually DO know that. They are planning on advertising only locally, which means that no one will have the transit experience that we all do. It is just the prospect of the possibility, especially after the foreclosure notice, that has me uncomfortable. I am also aware that the Board would not do away with my boss if at all possible, and he would not do away with any of us ever. And my prospective salary increases by 5k. I just want the unknown to over with. And my office mate, the Assistant General Manager - her position has been done away with. They will find a spot for her, but SHE may wind up with a cut in pay, so I am feeling her pain too because I really do love the woman.

... well, I love you anyways.

Yup, happened here when the hospital got bought out. I'm sure you'll be fine, Debi.

I'll pray for you. It does make more sense fiscally for those of you who are already "employed", be it contract or otherwise, to remain. The cost of orienting an entirely new staff would be unreasonable, at best.

It is mostly the combination of the two that has me shellshocked tonight. I am sure tomorrow will bring a bit more peace about it all. And I have two prospective new places to call and make appointments to go see before we are forced to default on the rent.

I can't imagine how you're feeling. I hope you can find somewhere that you'll be happy. A rad tech that I work with is going through the same thing right now, with her landlord defaulting on the mortgage and whatnot... She's found a place to buy on contract that will end up being about the same as she was paying for rent. But then, real estate in Iowa is fairly reasonable.

HEY!!!! YOU SHOULD MOVE TO IOWA!!!
