Going to college was one of the best experiences of my life! I had a lot of fun with friends and had great learning experiences. My major was Animal Science - so I got to visit the horse barns, poultry barns, milk barns, sheep barns, goat barns, deer pens, meat cattle barns, etc etc. We went on trips to visit farms and feed plants. I got to castrate a calf, watch a foal being born, grade beef on the hoof, train 2-yr-old horse, process turkeys - lots and lots of COOL stuff that I couldn't have seen anywhere else. Even though I was far from home - I still have never taken drugs and I've never been drunk. So I don't think going to college negates all the life lessons your mother taught you.
