Friends Welcome

True Grit = Great movie. (Great acting.

Makes me wanna go dig up the original.
I'm usually picky about movies, but that's two that I've liked in the theater at once. Bit of a shocker.

I really want to get a silkie, but my flock consists of bigger birds. They're all supposed to be standards, but they're very small for chickens.
Can I get a bantam, or would the poor baby get too picked on?

Cotton the one on your horsey...right boo?

She almost drowned in the horse trough once didn't she, before your hubby found her? Poor wittle fuzzy cotton got all wet and couldn't get out. That would have been so horrible had he not found her in time. I love Cotton. She's cute.

My girls want a silkie and I'm thinking about it...I have standard and than some ee's that are tinier than the rest. I bet they'd all get along.

I have a mixed flock. Some of the bigger breeds and 4 silkies. I started out with more but have pared my flock down a little. My little white (well, sometimes green) silkie can hold her own with anyone... My little black on is a total pushover, but, neither one of them seems to suffer any ill effects of being mixed in with full sized birds. Although they lay on the floor as they can't get into the nest boxes so I've fixed them some little nest boxes that lay on the coop floor.

My mom said she needs a chart to keep my chicken friends straight.
