Yep got my coop up and I'm getting 4 to 6 eggs a day. I am now the neighborhood egg pusher, I give them the first dozen free

Winter is full on now and I never see the sun but being back will hopefully brighten my days. Hope everyone is happy, healty and a little wiser in 2011.
Later. Rich.

Ugh. I am too tired to care about much of anything at the moment. I just need to get through the next 8 hours and I'm golden... Or at least off 'till Friday. I love vacation

Good morning!

That is a very nice coop, Lighthawk.

I have a big puddle in my chicken pen this morning. Chickens like to dig in the mud. But it makes the eggs muddy when they jump in box to lay eggs.

Little Big Man was such a god boy today. He did not run up the hill when I tried to catch him today. He went towards it, then went back to his spot whee he lets me catch him.
Then I was cleaning his feet and putting green stuff in them, and when i did the front leg and got done, he automatically tilted the back leg that he does not let me pick up, and I slid my hand down his leg and he lifted it right up without even trying to sit on me! i even got toput green stuff in there after cleaning!

WOW! Eggsellent coop. I know what you mean about never seeing the sun. I have pictures of sunny days on my computer to remind me what it looks like

I was just informed I need to start thinking about what I would like in a "real" coop. Seems the fiance isn't impressed with my storage shed conversion and wants to build me a real coop at the new house with room to seperate turkeys from chickens and breeding pens too. He's even thinking of a water storage tank that I can fill weekly so that I don't have to haul water every day.

So Rich, what do you know about compost?

Does he have any brothers? My SO said I should just get rid of my chickens when I move and get new ones at the new house. Sigh.
