You may want to try something else - I changed my diet to avoid HFCS and I eat more healthy foods that I ENJOY, not just to eat better. I wind up eating a large lunch and no dinner. Every now and then I have dinner if lunch was small, but for the most part I don't eat much after 2 pm. I am still overweight but have lost 60 lbs.

I have been SERIOUSLY debating doing exactly the same thing. The problem is 17,18,20 (sons ages) , scared of reaction. Might actually send them from the nest before they are actually ready to fly. If they were younger there would be no debate about it. The information hitting my hears about food is NEVER good.

I want to try the REAL FOOD way of life and see if there are any medical differences for myself. From what I understand it is more expensive because the fake stuff is so cheap to produce.

One of the main reasons I got chickens in the first place. I very rarely have to buy eggs anymore and I LOVE that!!!

Cheap to produce because they make so darn much of it.

Quantity over quality is our way of life now a days. Speaking of which I need to start up a garden. Anyone have any ideas of what I should plant? I always plant onions, strawberries, tomatoes, green beans... and some other things that aren't coming to mind right now. Peppers and mint for sure. I have a big old blackberry bush and peach/apple trees... And plenty of rosemary.

Wow. A commercial for eggland's best just came on.

I agree, especially the clothes issue. Let's all just run around nekkid. Well...except around the chickens. They like toenail polish..

So does the dog. She likes orange during hunting season, pink for Halloween when she dresses as a lady bug, and red the rest of the time to match her collar.

Well, I'm back from the hospital pharmacy.
I waited nearly an hour and they handed me a huge bottle of the wrong meds.

I was a lil upset that the doctor had failed to put my RXs in the computer.
I had to go to the clinic (thanks God it is on the same floor) and have another doctor
put them in the computer.
Then I had to go back and wait again...
All the while I was waiting I had the most annoying people around me.
First there was a guy drinking a large cup of something hot
who SLLLLLUUUUURRRRPPPed and tap tap tapped his lips each time he took a drink.

Then there was the guy eating nachos in my ear.

Then there were all the sick people sniffing and sneezing and snorting all over everything.

Did I mention all the babies????

Laree I have lost 100 pounds in the past 18 months and in a nutshell here is what I've learned.
Anything that elevates your blood sugar, whether it's fresh fruit or high fructose corn syrup, will cause your body to store fat. If you keep your blood sugar more level, by eating low glycemic foods, your body will burn fat. If you consume TOO FEW calories your body will go into starvation mode and not release any of your stored fat.

To loose weight eat green veggies, the brighter colors have more natural sugars, you can have those AFTER you get to your goal weight. Green means green, cucumbers asparagus, pickles, spinach, romain, green peppers, edemame, green beans, celery, get creative.
Lean meats: white meat chicken or turkey, eggs, lean cuts of beef or pork (well trimmed) a portion is about the size of your palm.

Skip the fruits, breads, startches, for now... you can add those back in when you get to goal.
Fat Free milk, low fat cheese (a serving of cheese is 2 AA batteries)
You need oil for gall bladder health but 2 Tablespoons is plenty. If you cook with it don't add it via salad dressings. If you don't use any to cook with you can eat some olives, an avacado or use a bit of salad dressing.

Water, Water, Water!!!! Don't forget your water. If you eat breakfast within 1/2 hour of getting out of bed you will use more calories all day long. And your brain will work better too.

Now I'm running off at the fingers....

Send me your questions.

If it ain't in your cupboard, you cain't eat it. Well done Saddi.

There will still be birthday cupcakes and such, but the boys are eating too many sweets. They'll need to be in better shape for swimming the pacific so no more junk.

The English Channel isn't enough. Maybe just start with swimming to San Clemente or across Mission Bay.

First of all, you already joined the thread. Then you became a full fledged member by spamming us with LORE

. By the way, how did your LORE advertising go?

If you are determined to loose that weight get off of BYC and move a lot. Talk to Michelle about PS90 or whatever that killer program is. Spread your calories over the day. Start the day with exercise and some food to kick start your metabolism.
