I need new jeans. The ones I have are falling off. I don't even unsnap or unzip them anymore.

Isn't that a good thing though...

It's a good thing in one aspect. The other aspect is we have no money left after buying stuff for the horses. So I am stuck with bozo jeans for another month.

Hi BOO!!! We bought halters and leads, brushes and combs, shampoo and conditioner, sponges, etc. But we also bought the alfalfa and orchard hay and chicken feed. The bill was $249. ROUCH!

One Mare (mine), one gelding (Kens), color is wild bay. Mine is totally broken, Ken's has some issues, but he is experienced so he can deal with it. They are VERY friendly, easily lead around, not fearful of the dog or the chickens. When we took their leads off, they ran all over and when they saw I had carrots, they came to me like a cat with tuna. They just stood there and let me hand feed them, no nips, no pushiness. They are gonna be great pets!

They have always been together, yes. They are between 5 and 8 years old, and no bath yet. We brushed them good and they loved it. We will do a bath next weekend after they have had time to get to know the land and us a bit better. We need to fatten them up a bit too and I am not exactly sure how to do that.

getting them used to letting you touch their feet is important too.

when i took horsey lessons back in the day, I had to scrape their hooves out every time afterward with that one tool... what is that boo? what's that tool called?

We have already done that, they are fine with us nudging their joints to lift their feet. Its a hook thingy. These are not sod right now, but they will be.

That would be a hoof pick.

And yes, very important to clean out their feet.
Pony is not happy with me cleaning his feet, I am still working on that. Some days he is ok with it, other days he says 'no!!'
I keep my horses barefoot, all year.
