Frightful's been at it again! New COOL sighting, post 191

Where's the nail-biting nervous smiley?
I haven't seen Romeo again.

But Frightful is scheduled for release THIS SATURDAY!!!

77horses, she seriously didn't look so big to me when I caught her. Now I look at her and am amazed!


When Frightful was first weighed, she was under 800 grams. Healthy females should be around 1200. Because Frightful "eats like a pig" (their words, not mine) they think she's probably gained about 500 grams. Enough to help her get settled back into the wild before she gets too hungry.


I'm lining up people to phtograph and video Frightful's release. Sadly, the forecast is for rain on Saturday. I am praying it moves through faster than expected so that she has a clear afternoon for 'lift-off'. Additional prayer for that would be appreciated! I know she can fly in the rain, but I would soooo much rather she had good weather. If not clear skies, at least no rain for a little while.

I know nobody is reading this any more, but I'm getting nervous as all get-out about the release Saturday. I sure hope it goes well!!!!!!

I still haven't seen Romeo, but I haven't seen any other hawks, either....


Have 2 fairly good amateur photographer friends committed to being at the house Saturday, and a handful of other friends will all bring their cameras as well.

your wrong someone is still reading this! I have kept up on all of it and cant wait for pics of release. Its funny how we hate them when they are around our chickens but love to see them in the skies! Keep us posted.

well, i for one can't wait to see pics of her flying free- even though hawks want to make a snack of my chickens- they are beautiful and you are wonderful to have rescued her- any sign of Mr Frightful??

I have not seen Mr Frightful aka Romeo. But I have not seen ANY hawks at all lately. So I'm

that all will be well.

As for banding: One of the rehab folks has a banding license. But I'm told that 'banding rehabbed birds is not encouraged'. Not sure why. Will try to learn more Saturday.

If I knew where to get an inexpensive, lightweight tracking device by Saturday I'd do it, just so I'd know where she was at. My hubby is afraid I'd even go for an expensive one, and he's not far wrong. Just depends on the operative description of inexpensive LOL.

I've been following also! You did a great job Wegot! Just look at her, she's gorgeous. She wouldn't be there right now spreading her wings like that if it weren't for you. I hope the weather changes for the better to get a clear shot on Sat.

Wouldn't that be cool, when you release her, Romeo shows up? And they fly in circles together!
