So I have seven hens. My rooster is a very effective. He has produced my 100% percent hatch rate.. There have been no issues except one. My frizzle keeps loosing her feathers from mating! She is even losing them on her wings. None of my other banties have issue with my Isbar roo. I have read a bit and 2 things concern me. I hear that breeding 2 frizzles can result in defects. I have also heard of some brittle feather genetic problem. She has had 2 chicks now. Both are frizzle. Could this be a brittle feather genetic problem? Perhaps the lady I got her from was breeding frizzle to frizzle?? I need to know. I want to produce strong genetically reliable chicks. Should I rehome her or is my roo the problem. I will add pictures of my poor frizzle a little later.. My rooster bonded well to my family and proves to be a great rooster in every other way. He is even gentle with day old chicks.. I don't want to start over with a new roo. Also, I don't want to breed her If this is a genetic problem..
