Hi all! I just took in some chickens for a family member who found out they were dangerously allergic to their chickens and one of the girls we took in is a bantam frizzle who has a lot of bald spots. I initially thought she was just molting and know frizzles can have a hard time during a molt but is there anything else that could be causing her to become bald like this with slow feather regrowth? I noticed her new wing sheaths are really thick with a white coating. Is this just what frizzles go through and are there any supplements I can give her to help with feather regrowth? Pic of my little mini “turkey” ❤️

I have a frizzle silkie hen that I swear has been molting for nearly a year. She's been on Kalmbach's Flock Maker like all the other chicks and chickens here too. All-flock feeds are higher in protein than layer feeds, and protein helps with feather growth.

You could try that or just try giving her higher protein for treats, like scrambled eggs or tuna in water are high protein for examples.
