Frizzle thread

Just acquired this young man...about a year old,,,,He's not happy about being in a smaller pen but I'll have to get another pen ready as soon as the weather permits. I know that its hard to look thru the wiring to tell a lot of detail but just wondered what crosses were here? I know its a silkie but ???? Also, I haven't thought about it but a friend ask if this roo could be crossed with a standard like a GLW or a RIR.....I didn't know what to tell her.. I don't have a roo or a silkie....

Well, I crawled into that pen and got ahold of him to get some picts of his 5 toed foot(got quite a spur there too..although never tried to use them)....yellow skin,,,and I don't know what kind of comb.....Can any of you help? Is that top group of feathers part of a polish strain or is that just the frizzle part

such pretty birds evertone has. might have to get me a few. does anyone know how hard it is to get the frizzkled out of a flock once it is in?

How can you take the spurs out/ cut them back/ or?????? Mine hasn't shown aggression but when I put him with a group of ladies, he may become protective to the point of aggression....won't know for a while. Besides, I don't want him tearing up the ladies if he attempts to mount my standard RIR, GLW, Brahma...The only one that is really his size is the GLW....but if the RIR's squat....??? he is a silkie frizzle..w/5toes besides the spurs

My White Frizzle - White Leghorn x Buff Frizzle.

She also has a rose comb as a result of a straight comb over a pea comb. Does this make her even more rare???

PRETTY PRETTY MAMA..............HOPE ONE DAY TO HAVE ONE.. GOT THE FRIZZ;E ROO NOW.....BUT WANT TO WAIT A LITTLE WHILE FOR HIM TO BE QUARATINED...AND GET USE TO HIS SURROUNDINGS..ALSO GOING TO REMOVE THE SPURS WHILE HE'S IN A PEN OF HIS OWN AND CAN HEAL...DON'T WANT HIM TO HURT MY LADIES..

This one was given to me (I think to get my husband good)....LOL.......this lady had grown up with me and know my hubby well.... well enough to know that he was not a fan of my chickens...We were passing each other at TSC a couple Sat ago and got to talking about this Frizzle roo this man had...he said it was just over a yr but I think he might be a little older...however, I wasn't planning on getting anything but feed.... She said: "I'll buy him if you will take him home to your hubby!"....LOLOL.....too which I said oh no you won't......then she forked over the $$ and told the man to put him in my truck! Then I had to break the news to my hubby on the way home....! Told him I had a rooster for him from this person and the only question he had was: "is he dead?"......I said no, he said, that it didn't belong to him then ! But he's at my home, still in quarantined....need to get the long spurs off of him before I put him with my ladies....then we'll see.....
