I was reading someone's website today that said this person had had the most success producing frizzles by using a frizzle rooster and a smooth hen that was half frizzle. I will try to find it again and post a link if I can.

Found it. Do a Google search for Glenda Heywood What Makes a Good Frizzle. It's on Feathersite.com.

I'm loving seeing all the gorgeous frizzles on this thread. We have 3 Frizzle Pekin Bantam (Cochin Bantam) eggs under a broody, so far developing well. We are 11 days along and our daughter is so excited. Hopefully one (girl) will be a frizzle. We bought the eggs off a breeder so not sure what we are going to get. We have some other Pekin eggs developing and one precious d'uccle egg doing well. It's the end of the season here in New Zealand so the breeder could only give us 2 d'uccle eggs and the other wasn't fertile. If we do get a frizzle baby or two we'll post some pictures. They are so cute.

I'm already planning something similar. I have a young rooster with normal feathering, but came from a frizzle hen. When he is old enough I'm going to pair him with my frizzle hen and see what happens. Has anyone ever tried pairing a sizzle with a normal? I've read that frizzle/sizzle is an incomplete dominant gene. If that is true then a pairing of sizzle and normal should be half way in between-a frizzle.
