Exactly. Chicken math. Hubs said no more chickens though. Will have to just sneak in one at a time that are similar in colors. He doesn't do headcounts. So yup.It's such a mystery isn't it? My 56 are heading to be over 100 by mid March... I have no clue how this happens
I keep seeing these reels on FB and tiktok. "We wanted a few chickens for eggs, so we have 30 chickens. The chickens needed friends, so now we have ducks...." etc
They hunt better than me. Only thing I can hunt is a sale at walmart or the grocery store.
You at least need to add a few every other year to keep the egg numbers up. As the older ones slow down, you need younger ones getting started... if you accidently forget which year you are on and buy some every year, oops...

I had rabbits as a little kid, then chickens, then horses, then cows, then goats. We just have the chickens and a broodmare now but it's like some ducks and Sebastopol geese 
hubby wants peafowl, a miniature donkey, pigs, goats... lol.
The only thing I can hunt out is the next chicken breeds I want to purchase . . .
