From egg to chick!

Also.....since when do chickens exercise?

A picture of Dolly. It's like she stares into your soul.

A picture of Cleopatra (I can only tell them apart by their legs. Cleo's legs are a pinkish orange whereas Cin's are bright yellow tinted)

And a picture of Hook. Strutting his little stuff.

That looks a little too brown for a brahma, and a little too pale for a RIR. Photos of them would help figure this out, checking pin bones also would. How is Snappy Snape doing?
Pin bones? Do tell!

He was doing good but today he jumped at my 7 year old. Scratched him on the arm a bit. I didn't see what happened before. I am assuming he was running towards the chickens. Snape isn't a bad roo....just...strict? He is still on probation but after today he might wanna find a new job if he keeps it up.

Dolly is GORGEOUS! I'm calling it, she'll go broody at least once in her life

Definitely keep an eye on him. He can do some damage to young kids

Lol. I don't mind. They'd be backyard chickens though when I build their roost. I'd need a run too bc they could hop the fence right? Free range wouldn't work when they got old enough?
You don't mind!?! USPS is back open Tuesday...

Free range would be ok probably for Grinch as long as there are no predators, the silkies could but are more susceptible to not make it.

I was thinking the same. Since the egg was cool to the touch and it was already 9:30 when I went out there. I will assume they laid around 7 or 8. So tomorrow morning I will watch the nesting box 👀
Will you be entertaining the neighbors by going out and obsessively watching the nesting box with pjxs on, rollers in your hair, and a crazy chicken lady coffee mug? 🤣
