From There to Here: The coop that moved with us and crazy life.

The run is ready, the chickens are big enough, the door is open.

And they are too terrified of the redwing blackbird to come out of the coop. 😂

Posted this in the diseases/injuries forum, but will add here too. I have a pullet with a foamy, swollen eye. Does not look inflamed, more bruised maybe. No respiratory symptoms that I can tell. Acting normal otherwise. She’s at the bottom of the pecking order. Does foam always indicate MG, or can it happen with injury as well?

Her face looks a bit swollen to me, she's pale too. Bubbly eyes generally do mean some sort of sinus or respiratory infection. I'd start her on antibiotics, Tylan type of medication.

Finally through the foamy eye episode and Chickie seems to be doing well. But now we have smoke from the Canadian wildfires blowing in and they’re all sneezing from that. 😕

Oh my goodness, mom for the win! I felt like I remembered seeing pictures of moving this thing, but I didn’t remember taking them or my mom being there. But I asked her if by chance she had them and she did!! :weeHere is the coop move:
This story is cracking me up! Me and my husband did the exact same things, bought property on the other side of town and took our coop with us, on a rink dink trailer😂

Finally got the nest boxes ready, and now we just need some eggs!

Thankfully Star kept his personable nature while we were on vacation, and is still a human friendly rooster. He does make sure to keep an eye on what I’m doing, but I think he’s mostly hoping I bring treats. He also started to crow a few days ago!

So far it’s onlyfirst thing in the morning, which I’m thankful for. Much to the hen’s chagrin, he has started trying to mount, and they are having none of it. Dumptruck is still my lap chicken.
