Here goes nothing! The first night when my darlings return to their coop. I went down earlier and let them free range under the watchful eyes of my boys while I cleaned out the rest of the coop. Then we replaced food and water and locked them up tight for the night.
I went down after it got dark just to check on them, and Red was roosting and making her "angry noise"
It sounds like she is wondering what the heck I have done with her sisters! It breaks my heart to think that she is missing them, and will be sleeping alone tonight since Ducky sticks to the floor.
BUT, it's only temporary as the new chicklets will be out there before we all know it.
Meanwhile, I introduced our Boxer to the chickies tonight while I cleaned out the brooder
She did awesome (aside from a good lick she got in before I could stop her). Then I shooed her out and set down a clean rag and put the babies out to play a bit with the human family. What a hoot! I wish I had gotten pictures, it was HYSTERICAL! The duck went zipping around like she was in Nascar or something, and then she went after my youngest son's eyelash. We attempted banana tonight with them and she got it EVERYWHERE!
Meanwhile the princess' were so calm and collected about being handled I was flabbergasted!
They are already so sweet! This is why we went with more Comets, so precious...
I'm going to get more pictures tomorrow!
