From Wisconsin

I have had chickens several times during my time living in rural Washington state and running a Wisconsin dairy. Now my son has taken over the dairy, and I decided to play with chickens again. I'm hoping to learn about the genetics and play with various colors and patterns. I am hoping to find folks who can enlighten about genetics and patterns, and celebrate with me when I actually get things right. Currently I have a mixed flock which includes lavender, chocolate and jubilee orpingtons and a few leghorns. I'm thinking I would like to breed the orpingtons. All my kids are grown and my wife passed away a few years ago, so I really don't need this many eggs. But it's fun to have them around.
