Front Porches

Wow...love everyone's porches!!! Figured I'd share our humble front porch. The pix were taken in 2006...too busy with the chicks last summer to get pix of the porch...

I'm soooo ready for spring to get here so we can get the orchids and other houseplants, back out there!

How sweet! I'd so love to sit out with all my BYC pals and sip iced tea on a warm sunny afternoon while we watch the Girls do their thing below us. Really, this house looks better in pics than it does in person. We got it for a great price because it was an estate and needed work. Still, it has great potential and some day I may be able to do what I think it's crying out for, but I do like it. It's very homey and comfortable.

Please forgive the ugly color of my house, but I love my porch. The exterior needs done of the house, but we have been working on the inside. We bought this place at public auction, and it didn't even have central heat, so we have been very busy.

Thanks! I want to eventually make the house white/beige with some country blue shutters. I think I have the original shutters for the house because my FIL bought them at a seperate contents auction without knowing they belonged to this house. It's a really weird coincidence.

Sara, great porch. Wrap arounds are so nice.
Everyone's look so comfy. Mine's a little plain:

Ok, I know I said I wasn't going to look anymore, but I just had to.....You all have such wonderful porches. Maybe someday I'll get my porch, but I'm not holding my breath!

Cyn...do you think that rose would grow in my area? I'll have to try and find out.

Katy, I don't know. It was here when I bought the house, was only about 6 ft tall then. It took lots of searching to locate the variety name and finally, I saw a pic of it in a magazine. Not sure you could even find one. Actually, they grow on the roadsides around here.

They're all beautiful. We have a one story house and a front porch wouldn't work but we have a deck that runs almost the full length of the back of the house. It's covered in snow right now. Sigh....
