Frostbite hats?

Has anyone ever tried the comb hats for roosters to prevent frostbite? I really wish I would have seen the idea before my roosters got frostbite, but now they all have frostbitten combs sigh... Just wondering if it works so I can try it in the future.

No, I didn't look though. I was just going to make them myself. Probably would be the best so you can have the exact measurements of their comb.

They would be a prevention thing not a fix for already damaged combs.

I would think anything rubbing on a frost bitten comb would be extremely painful and cause more damage by contacting the damaged areas.

If they already have it, it's too late. Dont put anything on it or mess with it. It will heal on it's own. They won't have a beautiful comb anymore but it is what it is.
