Frozen Eggs: are they safe to eat?

Yep. Although "cat" might be a strong term. It's not actually part of felidae. It's more like a weasel or raccoon or something.

Thanks. Been a while since I saw that.

Back on topic now. My comment was meant more as a humorous reply to a sarcastically phrased question than an actual discussion point. Sorry, Liz.

:p Fair enough! I am just also a little mystified by people throwing away perfectly good eggs in the winter when you can just cook 'em. Especially safe for baking. Just don't soft boil them or over easy or something that leaves them under-cooked. The texture comes out wrong anyhow.
I more don't bother with it because the birds enjoy them so. Sometimes in summer I give them perfectly good eggs.

No worries here!
I am just as guilty for going off-topic

But it is a good point to be made

I actually just hard boiled a bunch of quail eggs that may or may not have been frozen
No way for me to know

One more vote for eat 'em all! If it's frozen and cracked, I thaw it, then cook it for scrambled eggs. I COULD give it back to the girls, but I'd rather eat it.

NO pathogen can survive a good cooking. You just have to cook it the right way.

Our girls don't have SE, though, so we have eaten the eggs "raw" in homemade mayonnaise. Obviously we wouldn't used a split egg in that, though :)

Nonsense. I've fed my birds raw eggs shell and all for 4 years, and I have had a lot. I have had exactly one egg eater and she was a nutty bird that I think had nutritional deficiencies for some reason.

Actually, if a cracked egg isn't too solid, I'll just drop it and mush it with my boots. The shell's good calcium.

It's happened to me. I am speaking from experience.

Sorry, my personal experience is that it is not nonsense.
