Fair enough! I am just also a little mystified by people throwing away perfectly good eggs in the winter when you can just cook 'em. Especially safe for baking. Just don't soft boil them or over easy or something that leaves them under-cooked. The texture comes out wrong anyhow.

I more don't bother with it because the birds enjoy them so. Sometimes in summer I give them perfectly good eggs.

I actually just hard boiled a bunch of quail eggs that may or may not have been frozen

I set eggs on the counter when I bring them in if they sweat they were frozen and I leave them out til done sweating then put in fridge

One more vote for eat 'em all! If it's frozen and cracked, I thaw it, then cook it for scrambled eggs. I COULD give it back to the girls, but I'd rather eat it.

NO pathogen can survive a good cooking. You just have to cook it the right way.

Our girls don't have SE, though, so we have eaten the eggs "raw" in homemade mayonnaise. Obviously we wouldn't used a split egg in that, though

Nonsense. I've fed my birds raw eggs shell and all for 4 years, and I have had a lot. I have had exactly one egg eater and she was a nutty bird that I think had nutritional deficiencies for some reason.

Actually, if a cracked egg isn't too solid, I'll just drop it and mush it with my boots. The shell's good calcium.
