I think it is 12 large blocks so 48 small ones.

And I'm assuming the 15 blocks is a typo and suppose to be 12

Yes, sorry for the typo.....it si only 12 blocks that we are doing. YAY!!!! We now have 12 people thanks to prairegirl joining the swap

OHHHHHHHHH I just went back and looked at the pics and sooooooooooooooooo glad I did! I was arranging then in a diamond pattern instead of an x pattern!!!! Fortunately nothing was sewn together just getting an idea of how it was going to look.

Something went wrong. I used my 12 1/2 inch square to turn the the 7" square I had into a 6 1/2 square and now the strip is not in the center. grrrr. Suggestions... or better yet - a how-to lesson on turning a 7" square into a 6 1/2" inch square without a template I can put in the middle.

Don't know if this is correct or not, but I think you need to take the 1/2 inch out of the center. Like a 1/2 inch wide piece of tape down the center point of your 7 inch square w/ 1/4 inch on either side of the half mark then match the outside of the tape to the center of the square and cut those two sides, then repeat on the other side.

Thank you Kassaundra. I think I have figured it out. I hadnt eaten and our AC isnt working so it is 90 degrees in the house. Makes it hard to think and I get cranky.

I am trying again with a clearer head.

Low blood sugar + math = DISASTER + Frustration

Low blood sugar + rotary cutter = missing fingers

OK so here is my first one. It is not perfect but I did the best I could. I hope to improve over the 12 until I have it down pat (probably when I get to the last one

This is 12 1/2 inches. Let me know if I did anything wrong before I start the next one.
