I'm here Acre's. Well, kind of. I'm online because the hospital has Wifi.
I went in Wed to have my port removed. They didn't think the hole was infected so they flushed it out and sewed it up. By that night, even the paper tape was chewing up my skin. I had a small piece of Flexam to cover the stitches that I had gotten from my plastic surgeon. Its really thin bandage that feels like skin. It's used on wounds that won't heal and burns. Best of all NO ITCH!!! Home on Levaquin. Itching starts again!!! Down lots of benedryl to avoid hospital visit. That works!!! Put on different antibiotic.
Back to the hospital for a recheck of incision. Radiologist says it looks to "angry" and he wants to open it back up. So now I have a 4 inch hole in my chest stuffed with gauze. I was suppose to see my doctor after they taped it back up, but he was at the hospital and guess who got to stay?! ME!! Taking Vancamiacin by IV (have already blown 2 more veins) and a bunch of other stuff my mouth. They are giving me insulin, but that is ticking me off because they aren't testing me at times that work out to good numbers. It's after eating, when it should be before. I keep telling them this. My morning stick at home is never higher than 114. Here at the hosptial it was 247!!! I've never gotten that reading even after a HUGE pasta dinner!!!
Had a reaction to one of the meds they gave me to "prevent blood clots" while I spend a lot of time in bed. Guess these nurses aren't used to that. I gave the tech ORDERS for the meds I needed, she gave them to the nurse, who was standing next to my doc who was seeing another patient at the time. When I told the nurse PEPSID & SOLUMEDROL NOW!!! My doc looked at her and said "She said NOW!" He knew I knew what I needed. Within 20 minutes I was doing much better, stopped itching, tongue didn't feel like it was grown, chest not tight. I know now why some people don't work in the ER!!. My doc was calm the entire time because he knew that I was in control and had been down this road lots of times. I'm good now. Little bit of itching here and there, my night nurse is ordering another dose of benedryl to put an end to that.
I'm hoping to go home to my Furkids tomorrow. Little Miss Service Dog in Training, Katiebug, is getting spoiled spoiled spoiled!!! She sits, looks patetic and then whimpers luring unsuspecting doctors, nurses and other staff within reach of he secret weapon. A Gene Simmons length tongue!!! SLURP!!! I hear them in the hall now. Katie is getting loving even from the patients now, lol possible Therapy dog????lol.
Ok back from visiting neighbors. They just checked my sugar. Through the roof!!! Will try to be back later, they are calling my doc!!
