I am planning to breed some fruit flies to use as food for my hen, and I am wondering whether or not anyone here knows if chickens will eat them or ignore them. For some reason, my hen does not like to eat worms, so I am not sure if large numbers of fruit flies will be any better.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Seems like they would eat them. Mine chase and eat any bug that happens to fly by them:)

Have you thought about wingless house flies? I would think the size would suit the chickens better.

Fruit flies are probably better in terms of quantity.
Not sure what you mean.

I was assuming the OP was planning on culturing (which is regularly done by herp keepers), in which quantity is entirely controllable.
