We have some cherries that we got from the farmers market that are kind of getting squishy, can I feed them to my 3 month old chickens for a treat? Maybe put them in a frozen chicken-sickle with blue berries? What kinds of fruit can you not give a chicken?

As far as I know, chickens will eat any fruit. I've heard avocado isn't good, but I don't know if it's true. Your chicks will adore the cherries and blue berries. Your chicks will think you're great!

Not sure if this applies to chickens, but cherry pits aren't really safe for people to eat, so I'm wondering if they're ok for birds. You might want to pit the cherries first if you think the chickens might chew on the pits.

I have tons of blackberry on my property so my birds are getting a handful of blackberries each day.
