Fugly Farm

Talking about chick's, I have to move the one's in the brooder outside to the grow-out pen this week. The next hatch is due on Sunday.
Already? Wow. Honestly, I don't care for the chick stage. They're like babies, needy.

Penny was the gal that seriously asked me if I wanted to switch babies with her. She had her 3rd girl and I had my 1st boy. She wanted to make her husband happy with a boy.
:th
That's crazy! I can't imagine ever doing something like that.
I like your tall concrete walls...does everyone in your area have them? That would sure keep out trouble like roaming dogs.

Your glads are coming along very nicely!
Yes my entire neighborhood has the walls. Coyotes can jump them but we've only had owls and cats get in. They block the breeze some and get hot in the summer so I'm working on planting things in front of them to cool down our microclimate. My next thing will be clumping bamboo.

The glads are doing pretty well, I think there are a dozen that sprouted so not too bad.

Well, the one's in the brooder are starting to jump around in there too much, and I need to get the brooder ready for the next batch that hatches on Sunday. I hope especially for the 2 egg's to hatch, one marked with a W, and one marked with an H. The rest of those shipped one's are marked BSL. A few of the egg's from my flock are in there too.

I've always heard bamboo grows quickly. Does the clumping bamboo spread (some types do).

Good luck with the hatch!

Not as bad as a lot of varieties do. The kind I found here will grow really tall and block out the neighbors ugly motorhomes in his backyard.

Thank you! The only good thing that I see about the BSL's is that I should know who the boy's are at hatch. That bunch is from a Hona roo over Cuckoo Maran hen's from what I was told.

What are the W and the H?
